The Problem
In Puerto Rico and across the United States, survivors of sexual violence are forced to navigate a broken system that too often delays justice, loses critical evidence, and silences their voices. Instead of support, they face retraumatization. Instead of protection, they’re met with indifference.
Survivors are asked to be strong — while the system stays weak.
Justice shouldn’t be a gamble based on luck, privilege, or persistence. But right now, that's exactly what it is.
The system is not just flawed — it's harmful. And it's long past time for change.

-
According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network), 98 out of 100 perpetrators of sexual assault walk free.
-
Due to alarming levels of gender-based violence, Puerto Rico has been under a State of Emergency since 2021, yet since that time the rates of sexual assault appear to have tripled.
Our Solution
#JusticeNow is more than a movement — it’s a call to action.
We’re fighting for real, enforceable rights for survivors of sexual assault in Puerto Rico and beyond. In collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico Law School and legal experts, we’ve drafted a bold new Victims’ Bill of Rights rooted in international best practices.
Unlike the outdated version currently in place, our proposed bill guarantees:
-
Timely processing of forensic evidence
-
Legal representation for survivors
-
Full transparency in every step of a case
-
Support, not silence
Survivors should never have to navigate the system alone. With your voice and support, we can transform how justice is served — and make sure it truly serves those who need it most.
